Time Travel - Custom
- Time Travel - Random
- Time Travel - Custom
- Time Travel - Custom Period
These Shortcuts share the same mechanisms as the others in this series. You can check out the other posts here:
I'll explain the functions of each new Shortcut and how to use them.
The common features of these 3 Shortcuts allow you to:
- Set the duration each image appears - I recommend 0.1 ~ 0.3
- Choose the width and height of your GIF - I recommend setting it regarding the aspect ratio (1:1 / 2:3 / 3:4 / 16:9 ...)
- Select different saving options - GIF only, video only, or both GIF and video
Below are the key differences of each Shortcut:
- 💚 Time Travel - Random
- Creates a GIF with 100 randomly selected images from your whole Favorites Album (period: the entire period)
- 💚 Time Travel - Custom
- Creates a GIF with 100 randomly selected images from the Favorites Album, within the specified number of days, which is your input number (period: the input number of days)
- 💚 Time Travel - Custom Period
- Same with above, but allows you to manually select the period (from start to end)
These 3 customizable Shortcuts offer the advantage of creating a GIF/video that better matches your preferences. However, my other Shortcuts might be preferable if you favor a simpler and quicker process. Of course, I recommend downloading multiple Shortcuts and using them according to your taste 😋. Alternatively, you can download any of these and modify them directly as you wish!
For those who might not be familiar with my Time Travel Shortcuts, below is some basic information about them.
From your Favorites Album, it randomly selects 100 images taken within the last period of 000 days (it varies by Shortcut) and creates a GIF. Each image appears for 0.3 seconds, and the GIF loops indefinitely. I've set the GIF size to be a square, 1000 by 1000 pixels. Once created, the GIF will be automatically displayed, and both the GIF and a converted video version will be saved to the Recents Album.
Due to varying sizes and aspect ratios of each picture, some images may appear slightly distorted. If you're not satisfied with this aspect, or the speed of the GIF, you can customize it by altering its underlying structure in the Shortcuts App.
I also recommend using this feature in conjunction with the Journal App. By doing so, you can incorporate the GIF or video into your journal entries, making them more engaging. I hope you enjoy this creation, and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or feedback 😊.
